In either case, the Model 601 requires a total of three filters and these three filters need to be changed every six months. The Model 601 uses three standard HEPASilent™ filters made of polypropylene (traps particles) and activated carbon (removes odors and gases), or three enhanced Smokestop HEPASilent™ filters made of polypropylene (with equal particle efficiency), including more activated carbon for better smoke and gas removal.
