| How it works: This filter is designed to last five years under normal residential use. A large outer filter (Select white for your sandstone or white Healthmate Junior or black for your Black Healthmate Junior) traps the large airborne particles, lint and pet hair. The pre-filter (Permafilt™) traps smaller particles that have passed through the outer filter. These initial layers add life to the carbon and HEPA layers. A 6.5 lb. mixture of activated carbon and zeolite adsorbs still smaller particulate as well as odors and gasses. Finally, 30 sq. ft. of True Medical HEPA filter paper removes harmful airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. Filter has foam sealing gaskets on the top and bottom. Filter measures 9.5" diameter, 11.25" height Filter weight is 8 lbs. Each replacement filter kit includes a new pre-filter. Changing Your Filter: 1. Unplug the unit from its power outlet. 2. Turn the unit upside down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the unit. 3. Remove the four retaining screws from the bottom cover. 4. Lift the bottom cover off and set aside. 5. Wearing your work gloves, grasp the filter, carefully lift it out and place in a plastic trash bag. 6. Remove the pre-filter. 7. Replace pre-filter. 8. Install new filter making sure the label side is down toward the motor. 9. Replace bottom cover. 10. Replace 4 screws. 11. Run the filter on high for at least 1 hour. Filtera puts the "A" in filter!
